Looking for a new and unlocked flagship smartphone without a massive 5.7″+ display? The Sony Xperia XZs Android smartphone, updated from the XZ, is up for pre-order now with an imminent launch tomorrow at Amazon with a retail price of $699. The Xperia XZs is similar to the S designated iPhones, where the basic physical hardware remains the same, while internal updates are made to keep up with the current calendar year. The XZs boasts 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory compared to 3GB and 32GB found in the XZ. Other important hardware like the processor and camera remain the same.
The Sony Xperia XZs runs Android Nougat 7.1, has Hi-Res audio playback, a 1080 5.2″ display, and is one of the world’s first memory-stacked 19MP Motion Eye image sensors. The Motion Eye camera system features a 1GB memory-stacked camera sensor that processes images five times faster than conventional image sensors. This is the Sony technology behind our super-slow motion and Predictive Capture. It also has curved 2.5d Gorilla Glass giving it a large screen/body size ratio.
This is one of a few phones that does not have a fingerprint sensor, making it less secure than its counterparts. Sony struck a deal with Verizon awhile back that prevents it from selling smartphones in the US without that security feature, and doesn’t expire until next year. The benefit of owning a Sony smartphone is having the ability to connect to your PS4 gaming console to play game throughout your home.
The Sony Xperia XZs comes in Blue, Black and Silver and is available at Amazon.com.
