How to use split screen mode on the Samsung Galaxy S8, S8+ and Note 8

Samsung’s flagship smartphones come loaded with more features than any other smartphone you can buy. Not only do you get top of the line hardware with each Galaxy, but you also get features that make your phone customizable to your unique situation. One feature which many people find useful in their Galaxy devices, in particular on the S8, S8+, and Note 8 is split screen mode (also known as multi-window). For example, if you’re typing an email and want to reference a location or phone number, you can open one window for your email at the bottom half of the screen, while your contacts window is open above. There are dozens of other combinations of apps you can use in split-screen mode, and it’s really up to you on how you want to use this awesome feature. It’s super easy to use and we’ll show you just how to use it.

Enable Multi Window mode by enabling it in Settings

  1. Open the Settings app
  2. Click Advanced Features
  3. Click on Multi Window
  4. Enable Multi Window with the Recents button by clicking on the toggle switch

  6. Hold down the Recent apps icon Recent apps icon on the bottom left of your display
  7. Simply select the second app you want to use and it will open in the bottom portion of your display
