Harry Potter fans are in for a huge surprise. Niantic just announced that it is releasing its second major game: Harry Potter: Wizards Unite. Niantic is the company who created the wildly popular Pokemon Go. Pokemon Go used augmented reality that turned the real-world into a global game board filled with new Pokemon and gyms. The release of the game was unlike any other game that has been released. Everywhere you went, there were hordes of people walking around playing Pokemon Go. There were amazing stories about how Pokemon Go helped children with autism and Asperger’s. The game encouraged these kids to get outside of their comfort zone and socialize with other kids.
Harry Potter is still wildly popular despite the series ending in 2007. Everyone who loved the series has envisioned themselves as a witch or wizard at one point of their life. Harry Potter: Wizards Unite allows players to learn spells, explore the real world around them to discover and fight legendary beasts. You can team up with other fellow wizards and witches to take down these powerful enemies. Niantic is teaming up with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and WB Games San Francisco’s development team to help bring this fantastic series to life.
If this game is as popular as Pokemon Go, we’re in a for a treat.
